Goshen Green is a farm and market focused on building community through food, art, and education.

Our Vision

We are striving to become a cornerstone of our community and provide a place for people to gather, learn, eat, and recharge. We are rebuilding our food truck for weekend farm-to-truck brunches at our market, as well as working on plans art and yoga programs on the farm, and an expanded educational program for both adults and kids.

Our Practices

Sustainable Farming

Through regenerative practices our goal is to build and sustain healthy soil biology, creating more resilient plants and more nutritious crops. We compost our waste, reuse, recycle and repurpose it into fertilizer. No till, permanent beds and permanent walkways allow for soil life to flourish un-disturbed. Worms and mycelium thrive, making nutrients more bio available to plants.

Crop rotation and cover cropping replenish and protect the soil. Companion planting with flowers and different plant varieties encourages pollinators and reduces pest pressure.

Harvested by Hand

We are truly connected to the life cycle and origin of the food we produce at Goshen Green Farm. Saving our seeds at season’s end, using them in the dead of winter to start our seedlings. Tending, nourishing and protecting them till spring planting.

In the field we then watch over them as they grow, flower and produce their fruit. Each step by hand. Each step connected to the last. The beauty and magic of that small seed and the bounty it brings forth is a constant wonder as we work.

Education

We believe that understanding where food comes from, being in the field and experiencing food, literally picked from the plant and handed to you to eat, can have a profound effect. It’s something that reading, or watching a film cannot convey.  A farm can be a powerful educator. The things it can teach, things we can share here at Goshen Green Farm have the power to change lives.

The nature of the concepts that drive the way we as humans choose to farm affects society as a whole. One guest at a time, one CSA basket, one conversation at a time, we want to do our part.

About the Property

The property was originally part of an 1860’s farmstead and consists of 130 acres, which includes a copper-roofed barn, a glass greenhouse, other out-buildings, and walking trails.
